Fee Information

I am committed to being transparent about how I am compensated, so you can clearly understand how our relationship works. I’m always happy to walk through the details together so you fully understand how fees apply to your specific situation.

Planning and Advisory Services

  • Fees typically range from $2,500 to $4,000 per year, depending on the scope of the engagement and the complexity of your situation.
  • Fees may be paid as a lump sum or in installments, depending on your preference.
  • Planning work includes developing and maintaining your retirement plan, with ongoing guidance as your situation evolves.

Personal Financial Dashboard

  • Access is included at no additional cost for clients who engage in financial planning and advisory services, as well as investment-only clients with $1 million or more in assets under management. Otherwise, the fee is typically $100 to $150 per month.
  • The dashboard provides a holistic view of your financial picture through a highly secure website and mobile app. It enables you to track progress toward your financial goals, analyze your spending, and monitor your investments, all in one place.

Investment Management

  • For clients who would like help managing their investments, I typically recommend advisory accounts. These accounts are generally used for larger portfolios and are invested using a combination of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), mutual funds, and individual securities, based on your overall plan. Investment advisory fees:
    • Start at 1.25% annually
    • Are lower for larger account balances
    • Are calculated as a percentage of assets under management
    • Are deducted quarterly from your accounts
    • Align my compensation with your portfolio value
    • Allow me to provide ongoing management and oversight of your portfolio
  • In some cases, brokerage accounts may be used, particularly for:
    • Smaller accounts
    • Certain types of investments, including alternative investments such as private equity, private credit, or real estate funds
    • In these cases, compensation may come in the form of commissions paid by the investment company, typically through:
      • Upfront sales charges
      • Ongoing expenses within the investment

Insurance

  • When insurance products are recommended, I receive a commission paid by the insurance company.
  • Commissions are built into the premiums paid for the policy and do not result in a separate fee charged directly to you.
